“Trip to Morocco!”

My bucket list trip to Morocco, which I entrusted into the hands of Morocco Tours was everything I dreamed it would be and more.  From the initial inquiry until the time we left, all of our travel needs were taken care of. It is really challenging to pick one or 2 highlights because every day seemed to get better and better, this was also in large part to our amazing driver, Hassani.  From the moment he met us at the Casablanca airport until 9 days later when sadly we had to say our goodbyes, he provide insider insights to what we’re seeing and what we could see during our stay.

Our first night in Casablanca we had dinner at Rick’s Café, which might seem like a cliché but was very romantic and set the tone for the entire trip.  Rabat and Fez are beautiful and we learned a lot about the culture and history of Morocco as well as visiting the oldest Medina in the world.

The Riad we stayed at in Fez was something like being on a movie set made more so by being greeted on the main street and guided down hidden alleyways until we reached the Riad.  The drive to the Sahara desert was something in of itself, weaving around gorgeous mountains and seeing how the local Moroccan’s live.  Everything just kept getting better,  it was breathtakingly beautiful driving in a 4 x 4 in the Sahara desert and overnighting in a luxury tent.

The camel ride in the dunes and watching the sunset was surreal as was stargazing all night in the middle of the desert. Stopping at Atlas Studios on the way to Marrakesh was an unexpected fun surprise.   And then yes, we ended in Marrakesh, a truly electric city.
