Ariel and Lisa riding a camel in the desert of Morocco

“The whole trip was so interesting and well organized!”

We had a fabulous time! I would not have thought of going to Morocco but my dear friend Lisa, who is 94, and who had been to Morocco twice before, suggested we go together for an adventure. Of course I said yes!

The whole trip was so interesting and well organized, from our initial inquiries, to meeting our driver Rachid at the airport, right up to our last night in Casablanca. And the information and tips you sent to us before travel were very helpful for our preparation.

Rachid was so good to us. He happily shared his knowledge and love for his country, its history, geography, and people. He was also really helpful in finding places to rest when we needed to, and answering any and many questions, on all kinds of topics, including education in Morocco, the Muslim faith, the government, agriculture, history, food…anything we could come up with as we were driving along. He helped me to learn a few words and phrases in Arabic, though we did have some laughs over my pronunciation. I think of him as a good friend now and I hope our paths cross again, inshallah.

There are so many memorable highlights, and it is hard to pick just a few. The people we met along the way, including our local guides were always friendly and helpful, and definitely spoke better English than I did Arabic.

I was taken with the beauty of the Riads where we stayed, especially the Riad Myra in Fes. The medinas in Fes and Marrakech were astonishing, and we learned what balak, balak meant rather quickly!  Learning to bargain, with Rachid’s guidance, as I bought a carpet was quite an experience. The drive through the High Atlas, looking down along the river at the kasbahs and gardens and people living their lives, will stay in my mind for a long time. Our stay in the desert was beautiful, especially the camel ride at sunset. And we had many delicious meals. I now love having olives with breakfast! There are many more wonderful memories, and I have so many pictures to remind me of them…..

I guess what I loved and valued most about the tour was being able to spend time with people whose lives and culture seemed so different from my own. And yet we are so similar and share so much…

I will definitely recommend your tours to anyone who is thinking of traveling to Morocco.

Shoukran to all the team!

Ariel and Lisa.
