It is exactly two weeks since we are home, and are still raving about our trip to everyone we come in contact with. From our initial inquiry about the tour- to the day we left for the trip, communication and promptness from you and Ruth was outstanding. The very best part of our trip was Namir our guide/driver. He is smart, generous, conscience, kind and was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure all our needs were met. He was passionate about his love and pride for Morocco and offered a wealth of knowledge. Since we do not tend to rest a lot while traveling, we developed a routine of walking after a long day of travel. From the beginning, Namir insisted he come with us to keep hustlers away and make sure we did not get lost. He especially wanted to make sure we were comfortable and safe both in the desert overnight and during our hike up to the many levels of the seven waterfalls.
The country of Morroco was itself a great surprise. Having been to other third world countries we were not expecting the country to be so clean or so beautiful. The contrast of cities, topography, the scenery and the people was amazing.
Our experience in the Sahara desert was amazing, as was our climb up the waterfall. In both cases, our guides were in their early twenties comparing us to their nomad grand parents. In the desert, our guide insisted we did not need flashlights in the pitch dark to accompany him in climbing up some dunes to watch shooting stars. So there we went blindly following him and holding his hands for dear life!
It had rained for two days prior to our climb up the falls. Namir had asked the guide to watch out for me . What a slippery slope that climb was. The guide kept wanting me to jump from rock to rock and my husband kept wanting me to notice that their was not a person over forty years old climbing on this mountain. It was definitely adrenalin producing!
Chefchaouen , Fez and Marrakech were fascinating , with rich and diverse experiences. In addition we loved Riad Moucharabieh. The service and food were excellent. We had the same experience at Riad Zyo. At Riad Zyo the owner visited nightly to make sure guests were happy with the food and facilities. He really wanted guests to enjoy their stay. Unfortunately we did not feel as positively about our stay at Riad Myra. Although the service was adequate, the personal attention was no different than any large chain hotel.
So thank you, Morocco Tours & ExperienceIt! Tours, for a great experience!
