Morocco, we miss you already!!!
Kamal, our driver, was beyond exceptional and we felt deeply cared for by his extraordinary kindness and concern exhibited throughout our travels. Every detail showed the depth of his commitment to guarantee our trip was comfortable and enjoyable. His ability to safely and expertly navigate traffic and roads is beyond impressive! Kamal selected fantastic dining experiences that matched our foodie palates and accommodated our dietary needs. He provided invaluable support navigating to and from riads and tours, selected knowledgeable guides, and recommended additional delightful experiences after observing our interests and travel style. We hold close to our hearts the way he welcomed us as family and even checked in each evening to make sure we were safe and everything was good! Kamal’s willingness to share his wealth of historical and cultural knowledge as well as his deep love and respect for people exemplified the powerful gift of listening, learning, and appreciating the connectedness of humanity across culture, religion, language, time, and space. These conversations and shared stories are moments we will always treasure.
Even now, we look at the photos and cherish memories of strolling through the magical streets of Chefchaouen, the fairytale stay at Dar Jasmine, our self-chosen barefoot walk to Akchour Falls in the Rif Mountains, the boat ride to see flamingoes in Moulay Bousselham, laughing under the waterfall after climbing in the High Atlas Mountains, and witnessing first-hand the incredibly rich history, architecture, and artistry embodied by Casablanca, Rabat, Volubilis, Fes, and Marrakech! Dining at Al Fassia Aguedal on our last evening perfectly captured the beauty of our trip as a whole: from the delightful music to the enchanting garden and fountain, to everything we love about Moroccan cuisine: olives, traditional salads, tagines, and of course mint tea!
We are already recommending MoroccoTours to everyone! Brian dedicated considerable time in understanding our hopes, preferences, and parameters in order to optimize our time and customize the trip. Bethany was super helpful and responsive to last minute questions leading up to and even during the trip. We deeply value the company’s boots-on-the-ground commitment to being in Morocco and establishing lasting relationships with drivers, guides, and businesses. It was touching to have Sarah personally check-in while we were in Fes, as well as be available for additional around the clock support, if needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Morocco and only wish we had more of it to explore other regions and connect even more with people. Perfect reasons to return!
