I have to say that our trip was excellent and I would definitely recommend Morocco Tours to our friends. We were very happy with the itinerary, the riads & kasbahs — everything. Special thanks go to our driver, Rostom, who took exceptionally good care of us during our whole stay in Morocco. He was always courteous and punctual. He was a very careful driver (something I really appreciated when I saw how some people drive in Morocco!). He took care of absolutely everything from booking our guides, to our restaurant reservations, and even had some excellent suggestions for things to do on our ‘free’ days, like visiting one of the few remaining cave dwellers in a town just outside Fes, going to a Hammam, Dune buggying (near Ouarzazate), and a hiking tour in the Ourika Valley. Throughout our trip, I always felt taken care of. It really allowed us to focus on enjoying our trip instead of worrying about directions, transportation, restaurant reservations, etc.
As for highlights of our trip, it’s hard to choose. There was so much we saw, learned, tasted, smelled, touched and visited. It was a trip that was just so rich. If I had to choose, the highlights for me would be Volubilis (so amazing to see an entire Roman city — really gave me a picture of what Roman life must have been like), visiting the Berber cave lady just outside of Fes (her husband’s family had inhabited that cave for over 400 years!), and our trip to the desert (no moon the night we were there which made the star gazing absolutely phenomenal).
If I had to make any suggestions, it would be the Erfoud — Marrakech leg of the journey. I would recommend driving from Erfoud to Ouarzazate, with a quick stop-over to the Todra Gorge (I was a bit disappointed with the Todra Gorge visit as it was fairly brief — the itinerary made it seem more elaborate). There wasn’t much to do in Dades (even though the Kasbah was very nice), so it’d be wonderful to spend more time in Ouarzazate — a very interesting town.
Overall, I am thrilled with our trip. Morocco is a very unique, very beautiful, and remarkably interesting country to visit. It’s the richest trip I’ve taken experience-wise. Thanks to Morocco Tours for making our journey a seamless and thoroughly enjoyable one. I will be talking about it for years to come.
