I’m sure all the drivers affiliated with the tour company are excellent, but they only made one Kamal and we got him! Having him assigned to us felt like getting the winning lottery ticket. We looked forward to that warm and friendly smile that greeted us every morning. In fact, I’m not sure we ever saw him without a smile on his face. From day one we knew we were in good hands. Some specifics on Kamal:
- He is a skilled driver and we always felt safe (we especially appreciated this after a harrowing taxi ride from the port of Tanger-Med to our hotel in Tangier city).
- At all times he made it clear that we were his #1 priority. No ask was too big or too small. He tried very hard to please and it was clear he wanted to do everything he could to ensure that we had a great vacation (we did!).
- He was flexible and accommodating with the schedule. Whether it was a late start, adjustment to our dinner time or an extra bathroom stop on the drive, we always felt comfortable asking.
- We had great conversations and especially appreciated his commentary and insights into the culture of Morocco – what it has been and how things are changing. We found it fascinating.
- The guides that were arranged (by Kamal I assume) for the city tours and High Atlas Mountains hike were excellent, especially our guide in Chefchaouen.
Mostly, we just really enjoyed being with him. He was great company! In summary I highly recommend Kamal and by extension I highly recommend “Morocco Tours”. Given the travel window we imposed I thought the pacing and itinerary that they put together for our trip was excellent. In hindsight I wish we would have spent additional days in Morocco so that we could have extended our stay in certain locations (e.g Chefchaouen), and perhaps have added 1-2 additional stops, but they did a great job within the parameters we gave them. So much to see and so little time! We also enjoyed our accommodations. They were stunning.
