We had a fabulous honeymoon and were impressed from start to finish with the arrangements, accommodation and value! I will be sharing you contact with many friends who were wowed by our Facebook posts and want to book trips for themselves.
Ahmed our driver was very professional and his English was excellent. He took great care of us throughout.
The cooking class at Cafe Clock in Fes was a home run, we loved it and met another great couple there for a fun day.
Just to let you know how much Doug and I enjoyed our Morocco trip and to give you a little review for each property.
First, I want to tell you what a great time we had with our driver, Khalid. He was very knowledgeable and personable and we really enjoyed our time with him, and felt very safe with him.
Morocco is such an interesting country that really seems to combine the old and the new and modern. Each destination was a little different and always new sights. The overnight tent in the desert was very nice and we were glad that we included it in our itinerary.
As for the hotels–here are our thoughts:
Hotel le Doge–loved it. Very nice boutique hotel. We especially liked the bar and restaurant rooftop terrace–had a great meal there the first and last night.
Lina Ryad–very nice boutique hotel with nice rooftop terraces overlooking the city. Had a very good meal there.
We had a wonderful trip, in fact, Hannah and I agree it was the best trip we have taken together! That says a lot, because we have gone on a trip together every year for the past 10!
Rachid really took care of us as our driver. His Mercedes SUV was so comfortable and he played great music on our drive. But even more important, he watched after us as we had lunch on the road, and made sure we always had out internal guides before he left us. Even when we went out on our own, he waited patiently with the car and watched for us and greeted us as we returned. I sincerely felt so well taken care of. The internal guides were great.
Nicole and I very much enjoyed the whole tour of Morocco.
There was a good mix of urban and rural and while there was lots of driving involved, it allowed us to get an appreciation for the variety of terrain that the country has to offer.
The accommodations were great.
Our driver was very helpful in finding alternative dining venues when we had had one to many tajines or couscous!
The night in the desert was a highlight.
Where do I begin? Let’s start 22 years ago when Bob and I met in 1995. We started dating seriously and got engaged three years later and married 20 years later, sweetest day, October 17th 2015. When he re asked me to marry him a second time in 2015 June, he said, “where do you want to go on a honeymoon”, I said Morocco! It was my first marriage at the age of 64 and Morocco was going to be my first honeymoon!
Two years later, October 2017 we went on our unbelievable honeymoon. So at the age of 66 I went on my first honeymoon with Bob, my husband. It was well worth the wait. I cannot think of other place on earth that would have been a better choice.
We did have a wonderful trip to Morocco. All the arrangements were perfect! The riads, restaurants, hotels, desert camp — all were delightful, comfortable and terrific choices.
But the best of all was Khalid. I can’t imagine a better driver/guide. He was such good company. We enjoyed our time together in the car and walking about, even though some of the drives were long. He was so attentive and caring, it made us very comfortable!! We enjoyed the Mosques, synagogues, gardens.
Today, Thursday, Oct 26/17, is the last day of our first visit to Morocco. Comments:
1. The itinerary was well organized. We got to see a good deal of the wonderful country of Morocco.
2. The tour guide/driver, Youssef Maamri, excelled; he provided exceptional service, exhibited very good driving skills, showed great historical knowledge of the sites visited, recommended good restaurants and was extremely patient with our needs and requirements.
3. All of the lodging accommodations were great. The following deserve a special mention:
a. Tangier, La Maison Blanche: The owner, Azziz, went beyond what’s expected in accommodating us. Very nice person.
b. Ourika Valley, Bab Ourika: Both Litsky and Kudary were upgraded to a nice villa, that had a common social area and two separate bedrooms. Cozy lodge.
c. Marrakech: La Maison Arabe: Kudary was upgraded to a Royal Suite (for sure you had something to do with it). Very nice and cozy Riad.
We have travelled for most of our lives and in over one hundred countries and Experience It Tours is among the best travel organizations we have ever retained to assist us! From the beginning they were professional and responsive with well conceived itineraries, excellent hotel choices and guides, and an extraordinary driver.
Jamal, our driver, is fluent in English (he is married to an American and has lived in the U.S.), French, Arabic, and Berber. With over 60% of the population Berber, particularly in the south of Morocco, we found his fluency as a Berber to be a considerable advantage in our day-to-day interactions.
First of all I owe you guys a HUGE thank you for everything!
The trip was amazing since I change the first e-mails with Kit a long time ago and she answered all my questions while I was still deciding if was the time to make it to Morocco. After with you/Amy/Ruth (a big thanks to Ruth too) that helped me with all the preparations, questions, the almost last minute change (due my husbands passport expiration) and provided such a complete material that read about Morocco and their culture. I already had made my research, but for my husband that was “jumping blind” on that, was very useful! Definitively I would and will recommend Morocco Tours for my friends!
We want to VERY strongly recommend using the services of moroccotours, from beginning to end it was one wonderful experience, the driver-guide Rachid services were great at all time, knowledgeable, serviceable, punctual and willing to help and assist beyond limits.
We loved and learned so much about and of Morocco and would have liked to experience more of cities like Rabat, and the northern part of the country.
All the hotels and Riads were amazing as well as the people who either worked or owned the places were very helpful, kind and courteous.
