BRAVO! What a fabulous experience that will be in our memories for the rest of our lives. You have spoiled us from ever partaking in a ‘group’ tour again and we only wish your services extended into other areas of the world than just North Africa.
First of all, may I commend Kit for her excellent job answering all my questions during the booking process. I had contacted her over two years ago and she swiftly returned my emails without being pushy or aggressive. Throughout those two years she simply ‘checked in’ to see if we were still interested. There was no hard sell but it was her consistency and charming emails that finally clinched the sale. Thank you, Kit!
Another thank you goes to Ruth for her accommodating our late arrival due to snow at JFK. Quite honestly, your staff is the finest I’ve dealt with anywhere.
The Riads…oh the riads! I couldn’t possibly see staying anywhere else in Morocco. They were absolutely stunning; including Riad Myra which was being used as a replacement for another riad. The service, the beds, the meals, the modern conveniences made us feel instantly ‘at home’, …yet exotically far away. Well done!
You asked for highlights. Where do we start? I would say that the Sahara desert experience was unique and incredible. But that does not diminish the time spent in Fes wandering the labyrinth of streets with our fabulous guide (I apologize for forgetting his name. Was it Ibrahim?) He was informative and interesting. Our guide Abdul, in Marrakech was also excellent; taking us into little nooks and crannies of the city and helping us bargain with the snake charmers in the square. Most of all, was the evening in the Berber tent camp spent with just one other couple from Australia and their driver, Jamal.
Our driver, Younes, was a good driver. He was punctual, courteous and answered our basic questions, and shared some of his knowledge about his country.
He went out of his way to take us into the home of a Berber family in Erfoud where we met a wonderful man who took us all over his house. That was a highlight. This was all we expected from a driver…and more.
However; the night in the desert was magical and the Australian couples driver, Jamal made it so. This driver is on a whole different level. You could actually put him in a category by himself and charge more for his services! He joined the four of us for dinner and amazed us with his conversation, stories and knowledge. Then he took us into the desert where we all silently watched the stars for almost an hour. I asked our new friends, Jeff & Judith (from Australia) what their trip had been like to date and found that they were at a whole different experience level, due to Jamal’s very expert tour. I must admit I was a bit jealous!
Would I recommend MOROCCO TOURS/’EXPERIENCE IT’ TOURS? In a heartbeat!
