“Enjoyed every day of this trip.”

We are an adventurous group and all six of us looked forward to and enjoyed every day of this trip.

We agree that the most historically fascinating site was Chefchaouen. Perhaps the most honored guide was the old gentleman in Chefchaouen who really knew everything-history, religion etc and he was a contemplative, thoughtful intellectual! The guides were all very good and patient in answering all our questions-we had many- and the guide in Marrakesh was relaxed and simply very good-natured. The guide in Fez was just a bit more formal. And the guide at Volubilis also was very good-he made me a crown of flowers!

Driss handled us pretty well, took care of us very well and even helped Steve find a proper head scarf! He may not have been thrilled with the drive back to Casablanca along the coast, but we found the drive interesting and did see a very different part of Morocco,-also beautiful- especially the sea, industry and the Portuguese port where we tooled around for a considerable amount of time. We fed Driss well at the seaside hotel so he was happy!

“The best overseas trip I have made in my life”

We had the most wonderful trip with Experience It in Morocco. In a sense Morocco is a mystery, you just don’t know what to expect. It has such diversity of landscapes, such hospitable and happy people, and a creative and sophisticated culture not widely known.

The following points must be noted:

  • Youssef’s passion for his country was contagious. He knew what we should see and he explained the history and architecture in detail. He was a skilful driver and a very supportive guide.
  • The luxury and comfort of the accommodation. Our hosts were always attentive and generous.
  • The excellent food at the Riads and the restaurants.

“I had a great experience”

Just wanted to drop you a note after returning from a wonderful trip to Morocco. It has been great! All was so well organized and all the hotels/riads I was staying at were simply just terrific!

My driver – Mustapha Mohtaj – has been a pleasure to be with for the whole time. Extremely kind and caring and always ready to help out or offering his services. I also find him very knowledgeable and it has been great to have interesting discussions about politics, religion and his country in general.

One of the highlights definitely was the desert,

“This has been one of my most favorite vacations”

We are back from a two-week trip to exotic Morocco. Morocco Tours certainly knows how to take care of every single arrangement whether preplanned or spur of the moment.

Our driver, Ahmed, was the best I’ve ever had in all my travels and was with us whenever we needed him. Jeff, Kit, and Ruth were fantastic in our planing. We couldn’t have asked for better riads, lodging, or sightseeing expeditions.

Honeymoon Travel to Morocco – Romantic Tips & Ideas

“Morocco is a fantastic honeymoon destination!”

Here’s why you can stop Googling “romantic honeymoon destinations.”

No matter what you are interested in, there is something fun for you. Looking to just relax on your honeymoon? Spend time in the beautiful riad or wandering Marrakech. If you are into adventurous activities, ride a camel out into the dunes, try sandboarding or hike in the gorges! For those that love spas, visit the Moroccan hammam for a couples spa.

The beauty of Morocco is unparalleled, making it a perfect romantic spot. TripAdvisor’s Travelers Choice even rated Marrakech, Morocco as the #1 Place to visit in the world! Many counties have beautiful aspects but Morocco boasts a range of scenic locations such as ancient cities, warm beaches, endless dunes and poppy-filled countrysides. Morocco is the dream exotic getaway featuring starry nights in the Sahara and vibrant city life. Each city you and your spouse visit will leave you wanting to come back and will definitely be a trip to remember!

Morocco knows how to do tourism. The last thing you want to be worried about on your honeymoon is how you are going to get somewhere, or whether or not you will be able to find a romantic place to eat. If you have a personal driver, they will be happy to help you in whatever way they can, and will go out of their way to ensure that your trip is hassle-free with every minute detail taken care of.

The food in Morocco is unbelievable. This sounds like a simple thing to consider, but imagine how awful it would be to visit a country that didn’t serve food you enjoyed! Sip mint tea overlooking the big square with delicious shaped cookies or dig into the fresh bread and tajine at a meal time.

Morocco is easily accessible and is only one flight away from the United States or other major airports.

The weather in Morocco is great. It has wonderful sunny weather for most of the year, and gets a little chilly in the winter months.

Themed Honeymoons:

If you are a couple that enjoys bonding over a specific activity, you might enjoy planning a themed honeymoon. Here are two themed honeymoons that would work really well in Morocco:

Culinary Honeymoon:
Do you and your spouse love to cook together? Are you always on the lookout for new dishes and spices? While in Morocco on your honeymoon, try out cooking classes, taught by experts. They will guide you through the preparation of a delicious Moroccan meal. Some cooking classes even have you go to the market and buy all the ingredients with them so that you will be able to replicate the meal when you get home! Stop by the Berber pharmacy in the Fes Medina to buy the spices that you will need to bring back home.

Adventure Honeymoon:
This one is for the couples who want to be active on their honeymoon vacation. Make sure to seek out the adventure opportunities in the cities you visit! For example, hike in the scenic Atlas Mountains or while in Essaouira, try out the water sports! Another romantic adventure is taking a 4×4 trip out in the Sahart desert to explore the sand dunes. The Pros & Cons of Private vs. Group Tours

When it comes to planning a once in a lifetime vacation, you want to make sure that you get exactly what you want out of your trip. For many people, planning a trip to an exotic location can be confusing. Not only have you likely not been to the location before, but also you may have a lot of questions about the local culture and need expert advice on which activities and sites not to miss.

That’s where becoming part of a tour group can help. You’ll need to decide, though, whether a private or a group tour is best for you. The decision will likely take a number of factors into consideration. To help you out, we’ve assembled the pros and cons of both private versus group tours.

Group Tours

Pro: Lower price
Let’s start with the group tour. The most obvious pro to booking a group tour for your next vacation is the price. Typically, a group tour comes at a lower price when compared to a more stylized, private tour.

Pro: Meet new people
Another pro to booking a group tour is that there is sometimes a sense of family togetherness fostered among members of the group. This type of tour offers the chance to meet new friends and acquaintances, in some cases, from all over the globe.

Con: Fixed dates & itineraries
This brings us to the cons of group tours. You normally aren’t allowed much leeway in terms of the tour you take when you sign up for a group tour. Normally, these types of tours rely on pre-fixed departure and return dates with little to no flexibility. The itineraries are also commonly set well in advance and are not available to be altered by vacationers.

Con: Fixed transportation
As well, another con to group travel is fixed transportation. This usually means a large tour bus that makes pre-planned stops and may even lead to you missing out on certain locations and sites. Some historic sites may not have room to accommodate large buses.

Con: Tourist-rich experiences
Group tours also heavily rely on tourist-rich activities and sightseeing. For travelers in search of a more “authentic” adventure, you may not find yourself fully immersed in the culture of a region by taking part in a large group tour.

Private Tours

Pro: Customized for travelers
Next, we look at private tours. For many travelers, private tours afford unique vacation opportunities that can be customized to reflect personal needs and wants. You don’t have to depend on pre-planned itineraries. Private tours are designed around what travelers want to get out of their vacations.

Pro: You set dates/times
Along with this, it is up to you to set up the private tour and guide to fit your schedule. With a private tour, you can set the date which is most convenient to you. You can also choose to stay in one destination longer, and one shorter. You don’t have to depend on going along with the group. Additionally, you can make your vacation as short as you want, or extend it as long as you want and you can afford.

Pro: Vacation with friends/family
Another pro to taking a private tour is that you know your fellow travelers. Because the tours are private, you get to decide who joins in on the tour. This may mean just your immediate family, your extended family or your invited friends. You don’t have to worry about vacationing with strangers if you don’t want to.

Pro: Private transportation
With a private tour group, you can also rely more on private transportation to get you around. While large tour groups may end up on large buses and other services, small private tour groups often get around by private car or minibus, offering travelers more flexibility.

Pro: Special assistance
Private tours are also useful for those who need some extra assistance, including older relatives, those with small children, or travelers with disabilities.

Con: Cost (sometimes)
As for the cons to private tours, such tours do traditionally cost more money. However, because you are planning the vacation you want, you aren’t wasting money on things you don’t want to do or see. If you don’t want to stay in a luxury resort, for example, you don’t have to. That’s more money for you to take part in the range of activities that you do want, making a more meaningful vacation for you to remember for a lifetime.

5 Romantic Honeymoon Hotels

Are you looking for special place for your honeymoon?

Morocco is no doubt a magical place for honeymooners, in some cases allowing travelers to virtually transport themselves back in time. However, when you book a trip to one of these five romantic hotels in Morocco, you’ll find that not only is love in the air, but also romance is at bloom year-round. As you are planning your honeymoon to Morocco, make sure you consider some of these luxurious hotels.

Kasbah Tamadot

tamadotOur first romantic hotel in Morocco is the Kasbah Tamadot. Nestled in the High Atlas Mountains, this breathtaking destination is owned by non other than famed balloon traveler, Sir Richard Branson.

With just 27 guest rooms, each is filled with antiques. For an even more appealing and alluring stay, choose from one of the luxurious Berber Tents. Some even include private plunge pools for the utmost in secluded extravagance. For an over the top honeymoon, splurge for the master suite. It offers a scaled down version of the Kasbah, with unmatched views, a private pool and a large sweeping terrace.

Lose yourself in the exotic gardens and courtyards of Kashbah Tamadot, or dip your toes in the resort’s outdoor infinity pool with magnificent views of the mountain range. Enjoy a cocktail in the beautiful Asmoun Lounge, with its fabric draped ceiling and richly appointed furnishings. Whether day or night, you can then take in the naturally beautiful surroundings from the exotic Roof Terrace.

Other options for guests include the open-air movie theater and of course the pampering at Asounfou Spa with a range of traditional and calming treatments. Special honeymoon packages are available to help make your trip even more personalized and memorable.

Hotel La Mamounia

lamamouniaAlso making the list of the our romantic Moroccan hotels is Hotel La Mamounia. With its ornate carvings and hand-cut tiles, this palace portrays an equally alluring mix of the City of Marrakech’s past and future, while reflecting upon the modern conveniences that travelers come to expect. La Mamounia is perhaps Morocco’s most famous hotel and has hosted many a celebrity.

“I do not know where to even start…”

annelieseI do not know where to even start regarding the most amazing adventure. From start to finish, everything was absolute perfection (well except the initial flight issue). Each hotel or riad had it’s own unique ambiance that led to the overall experience. From the modern hotel in Casablanca, to the quaint Villa Mandarine in Rabat. Since our days were packed with exploring, it was comforting to know that we would lay our head down in a welcoming/safe place.

On top of the amazing job that / EIT did putting our journey together, I would be remiss in not mentioning the amazing, spectacular, intelligent, humorous and caring Ryad Mekouki. His knowledge of his country and culture, is truly unmatched. As Americans, we fall short in knowing our history and heritage, but Ryad did not miss a beat. Every question was answered, without hesitation. The conversations that we had have left an imprint on our lives, and we are better people having met Ryad. Ryad not only secured some of the best tour guides (Mohammed), but he knew our every step and need before we even asked.

The Sahara Desert of Morocco

The Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in the world spanning over 8.6 million square kilometers. Of course not the entire desert sits in Morocco; Morocco shares the desert with Algeria, Egypt and Mauritania. For those looking to tour Morocco, you will definitely want to consider a visit to the Sahara!

Interestingly there are over two million people that live in the desert and there are two desert villages that can be visited when you are travelling the area.

The Sahara Desert of Morocco offers brilliant blue skies, vast sandy landscapes with rolling dunes and a very peaceful ambience. During the summer time it does get very hot, as you can imagine, so travelling the Sahara during the cooler hours of the day or during spring and autumn will help you stay a little cooler.

Morocco Tours for Single Travelers

Are you looking to travel to Morocco on you own? Almost every week we get inquiries from potential travelers who are looking to visit Morocco on their own. Some of them are looking for a group tour to join, but many of them are interested to travel on a private Morocco tour.

Is it even possible?
Over the past 10 years, we have served a large number of single travelers. They like to travel by themselves because they can choose their own dates, their own itinerary, budget and much more. The cost of the single traveler tour is higher than our other tours mainly because there is no one else to split the cost with. Many of these travelers enjoy the relationship that they develop with their private driver and love Morocco.

What about single women?
At first I was very hesitant to offer private tour packages to single female travelers, but over the years I have changed my mind. Not because I think Morocco is a wonderful place for single females, but because I have such confidence in my drivers and guides that I don’t worry. I know that they will be taken care of and are in good hands.

How can I keep the price down?
The major downside of traveling alone is that the price is significantly higher than our normal tours like the Best of Morocco.
